Carcassone  Stew

Whilst visiting Carcassonne and Castelnaudary, the food on every menu was the Cassoulet, a dish that legend says eventuated as a result of townsfolk being starved during a siege. Down to the last of their food, the people combined their meager ingredients in one large stew. With the introduction of the American white bean to […]

Adelaide At Last

We made it into Adelaide early yesterday morning. Love the do it yourself passport check. The fastest trip through Customs ever: no more than 20 mins – including luggage collection – from the moment of alighting from the plane. A cool change came through, so that heat we were expecting has passed, and a pleasant re acclimatizing to […]

Last Transit Leg Tonight

After an overnight stopover in Milan, a leg to Amsterdam in which we enjoyed a bit of time exploring, and the flight from Amsterdam to Bali (with an hour of respite in Singapore) we are currently relaxing in Bali. It’s a great way to acclimatise after the cooler winter weather of Europe. Exploration of Milan and Amsterdam are […]

On The Way.

In Milan, preparing for the flight to Amsterdam.

Sicily Departure

We depart for Milan this arvo.

How Time Flies….

A flat towards the end of our Etna journey. Is it already six days ago? Yesterday: deck tidied, stainless lifelines (the rope fence around the decks) removed, combings (tops of hull) sanded and oiled. Today: inclement weather, good for the washing. Saturday afternoon is departure day.

Etna
A Trip to Etna

New Year’s Day, 2016. A moment of downtime as we enjoyed a trip to Etna. Just snapshots of the day, as viewed from within the car as we motored along: the good ones will come once the work upon Gratis is completed and we have plenty of time up our sleeve.

Moving the Dunny
More Work….

The kitchen cupboards are well under way. The first is packed… The bedroom is almost there. At least we can use the shelves… Work in the bathroom is well under way. Hoses have been moved, the cupboard partially completed and painted… Still in the bathroom, the hand bowl was moved yesterday and backbreaking work for […]

Happy New Year, 2016
Work continuing…

After a relaxing Christmas Day we were back at the grindstone yesterday. Rain kept us inside, but progress was still made. One quarter of the painting in the bedroom is completed, the bathroom cupboard is usable and the first of the kitchen cupboards ready for stocking.

Christmas Day

Most relaxing. All prep work completed on Christmas Eve. Mushroom soup; roast chicken, spuds and pumpkin; spinach, with chocolate pudding to finish off. Yum!! Went for a drive yesterday arvo to check out whether the Valley of Temples in Agrigento would be worthwhile visiting: it is!!! It requires a full day of focussed tripod photography. […]

Into the Bathroom Goes Bob

Bob commenced working on the new bathroom cupboards yesterday, whilst I continued painting the forward cabin and commenced oiling the bowsprit.

A Bit More Work On All Fronts

The spiel and pics are gradually coming along. Finished the write up on Salses yesterday and the St Helena images are almost completed with the resizing: it’s a slow progress as the work on Big G comes first.   This week the painting will be close to completed.   Some phone images from Sicily. So […]

The Painting Continues

Painting is well under way. With all shut down over Christmas here, Bob interrupted the indoor painting yesterday and headed over to the sheds to cut out the wood for the bathroom and kitchen cupboards. Other happenings: Our mariner compass quilt is gradually growing, compliments of Tuesday get togethers with other craft ladies. With clear skies, […]

Page Issues

Our page detailing the trip for this year is causing issues as a result of the images being too large. It is currently taken off the site. You will also find many images on the snippets page have disappeared as I have totally removed them. At the moment the images are in the process of being […]

The Cabin is Moving Closer to Completion.

The painting should commence this weekend.
